Water Treatment Chemicals

  • 15 Vendors
  • 484 Lowering Bids
  • 85 First Place Turnovers
  • Lowest Spread between 1st - 2nd Place was 0.03%

The chemicals involved in this reverse auction include: Ferric Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Polyaluminum Chloride, Powdered Activated Carbon, Hydrofluorosilicic Acid, Ammonium Sulfate, Potassium Permanganate, Sulfuric Acid & Zinc Orthophosphate.

The reverse auction event lasted 26 minutes allowing the city to receive the most competitive bid pricing possible across all line items. The city achieved a 0.03% difference between the 1st place and 2nd place vendor's bids.

Because of the heightened vendor competition, there were 85 first-place takeovers in the reverse auction event. Meaning the 1st and 2nd place vendors changed 85 times in 26 minutes!

Reverse auction bidding events are the only way for water utilities to achieve this level of vendor competition. And with market pricing fluctuating, it's the best method to receive bids as close to current market pricing as possible.

eBridge is continuing to expand the use of reverse auction in public procurement across the United States.
