eBridge Procurement hosted a Water & Wastewater Treatment Chemicals reverse auction for a city in the State of Arkansas. 21 vendors participated in the bid for 13 chemical line items. Which resulted in over 1,140+ lowering bids. The heightened vendor activity allowed the city's water treatment department to receive pricing at the current market level pricing.

The water treatment chemicals put out to bid in this reverse auction included Hydrated Lime, Liquid Ferric Sulfate, Polymer Coagulant Aid, Liquid Cationic Coagulant, Sodium Hypochlorite, Powdered Activated Carbon, Calcium Nitrate, and Soda Ash. 

The reverse auction lasted for 1 hour and 50 minutes. During this bidding period, the first place vendor changed 413 times, resulting in 820 time extensions. These reverse auction stats are the reason why the smallest difference between the first and second place vendors was just 0.130%.
