eBridge Procurement hosted a reverse auction event in the state of North Carolina for water treatment and water reclamation chemcials. 16 vendors participated in the bid, resulting in over 390+ lowering bids. eBridge continues to create competitive bid environments for water utilities across the United States.

The chemicals involved in the reverse auction event included: Caustic Soda, Hydrofluorosilicic Acid, Powdered Activated Carbon, Dry, Sodium Bisulfite, Aqueous Ammonia, Magnesium Hydroxide, Ferric Sulfate, and Zinc Orthophosphate. 

This reverse auction event lasted for 1 hour and 20 minutes, which allowed the city's public works commission to receive competitive bids for all 8 line items. Because of the heightened vendor competition, the first-place vendor changed 108 times during the live bidding.

Reverse auction bidding events are the only way for public works departments to achieve this level of vendor competition. No other bid format creates this competitive of a bid environment
