eBridge Procurement hosted a reverse auction event in the state of Illinois for Water Treatment Chemicals. 10 vendors participated in the bid, resulting in over 240+ lowering bids. eBridge continues to create competitive bid environments for water utilities across the United States.

• Lowest Spread between 1st - 2nd Place Vendors was 0.06%

The chemicals involved in the reverse auction included: Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Bisulfite, Ferric Iron as Ferric Chloride, Polymer (GBT), and Polymer (Dewatering).

This reverse auction event lasted for 34 minutes, which allowed the city to receive competitive bids for all line items. Because of the heightened vendor competition, the first-place vendor changed 72 times during the live bidding.

Reverse auction bidding events are the only way for water utilities to achieve this level of vendor competition. No other bid format creates this competitive of a bid environment
