eBridge Procurement hosted a reverse auction event in the state of South Carolina for Water Treatment Chemicals. 12 vendors participated in the bid, resulting in over 300+ lowering bids. eBridge continues to create competitive bid environments for water utilities across the United States.

The chemicals involved in the reverse auction event included: Aluminum Sulfate, Powdered Activated Carbon, Carbon Dioxide, Ammonium Sulfate, Sodium Thiosulfate, and Sulfuric Acid.

This reverse auction event lasted for 41 minutes, which allowed the city to receive competitive bids for all line items. Because of the heightened vendor competition, the first-place vendor changed 121 times during the live bidding.

Reverse auction bidding events are the only way for water utilities to achieve this level of vendor competition. No other bid format creates this competitive of a bid environment
